receiver.DSCdecoderalsodisplaysarollingaudiospectrumdisplayifthatis
easierforyou.Spectrummode-InSpectrumMode,DSCdecoderdisplaysthespectrum
oftheaudiosignalsonyourPCscreenasanaidtotuningthereceiver.Youcan
clickonthespectrumdisplaytoretunethedecodertotakeaccountofanymistuning
fotheradioitself.Messagemode-InMessageMode,DSCdecoderdisplayseachdecoded
messageinplainlanguageonyourPCscreen.Thesender,therecipient,thepriority,
andanyfrequency,position,orenquirydataaredecodedanddisplayed.Chartmode-
InChartMode,DSCdecoderdisplaysthepositionofanyshiporcallareathathas
beenincludedinanydecodedmessage.DSCdchartsarecompatiblewithShipPlotter
charts.ATISdecode-InadditiontodecodingtheMF,HFandVHFmodesofDSC,
DSCdecoderisalsoabletodecodetheATIS(AutomaticTransmitterIdentification
System)databurststhataretransmittedontheregularVHFmarinechannelsinthe
BeneluxandRhinelandriversystems.Navtexdecode-InadditiontodecodingtheMF,
HFandVHFmodesofDSC,DSCdecoderisalsoabletodecodeNavtextransmissions
whichareusedfornavigationalwarningsandweatherbulletins.Astheexampleat
rightshows,Navtexmessagesthatcontainpositionsinarecognisableformatalso
plotinchartmode.Themessageidentifierplotsbydefaultandifthecursorhovers
overtheidentifier,thecontentofthemessageisdisplayedoverthechart.DGPS
decode-DSCdecoderisalsoabletodecodeDGPStransmissionswhichareusedfor
addednavigationalaccuracyusingGPS.Messagelog-DSCdecoderstoresallmessages
receivedanddecodedinatextfileforlateranalysisandreview.Thelogfileis
timestampedandDSCmessagesarepunctuatedforeasyimportingintoaspreadsheet
ordatabase.Alarms-DSCdecodercanbeconfiguredtosoundanaudiblealarmon
receiptofadistresscalloradistressrelaymessage.Itcanalsobeconfiguredto
soundanalertonreceiptofanymessagecontainingaspecifiedtextstringsuchas
theMMSInumberofashiporthenameofacoaststation.Youcanevenconfigureit
tosendanemailtoadesignatedaddressonreceiptofanalarmoranalert.Floating
window-DSCdecodercanbeconfiguredtodisplayafloatingwindowshowingjustthe
lasttwomessages.Thewindowisalwaysontop,regardlessofthefocusthatsome
otherapplicationmayhave.Themeansthatyoucanworkonsomethingelsewhile
keepinganeyeonmessagesastheycomein.
Automaticlookup-DSCdecodercanaccesstheITUdatabaseofMMSInumberstoretrieve
thenameandcallsignofanyshipthatismentionedinreceivedmessages.Coast
stationMMSInumbersaretranslatedusingatextfilethataccompaniestheprogram.
AutomaticFTPtransfer-DSCdecodercanperformanFTPtransfertoauser-definedFTP
serversendingeitherthemostrecentmessagesasatextfile,orthecurrentchart
imageasaJPEGFileatuser-definedintervals.
Automatictuning-DSCdecodercanautotunethedemodulatortoaccommodatearangeof
subcarreirfrequenciestorelievetheuseroftheneedtotunethereceiverprecisely.
UDPoutput-DSCdecodercansenddecodeddatatoaUDP/IPdestinationforprocessing
elsewhereonthenetwork.
Navtexserialinput-DSCdecodercanacceptserialNavtexmessagesfromtheNASA
NavtexEngine.Messageswithpositionsinthemaredisplayedgrpahicallyonachart.
